  1. hey -- great game, playdek -- this little milestone reminds me how i killed all of that spare time... :-D peace -- -- khs
  2. heya, shy -- my point exactly... the team got their work done, now it's feet-up for them... but you... oh, man... ;-) even if i were inclined to cross-dress, which i am not, i wouldn't want to be in your shoes for about the next calendar month while you try to keep the common folk from sharpening pitchforks & lighting torches... but, i guess that's why you get the big bucks... warning in advance: Steam's customer service is less than stellar... expect people who have had to deal with them and then get ahold of you to be disgruntled... my experiences with them over Magic 2015 have placed me firmly in the "well, you'll never see another damned dollar out of me, @&*#%^$!" camp... you, however, are a trained professional, and tops at what you do, i'm sure you'll handle it all with grace and aplomb... thanks, by the way, for the encouraging words... while i'm sure this falls pretty squarely into the less-than-optimal response from Playdek's point of view, i don't see myself trying to run Steam in a virtual machine [and paying an extra US $10 for something i already have] when i've already driven myself half-mad [which half?!] getting it going the way i managed to... best of luck -- -- khs
  3. don't hate the player nor the game, that's all i'm sayin'...

  4. and then, the next day, i wake at the crack of noon and see on facebook that the Steam version has finally arrived... doh...!!! poor shybutnotshy -- i'm guessing that is one overworked girl, right about now... ;-)
  5. hey there -- i watched your two posted videos, not bad at all... hopefully you'll keep it up... followed your channel, as well [i'm Scribner67 on Twitch]... that was a sweet 37-Honor turn, congrats... i know there are other people in the forum who must watch a little Twitch: help out the cause, will you...? follow his channel, watch his streams... viewers beget viewers, viewership begets interest and growth, interest and growth beget Playdek taking notice, maybe tossing an incentive out once in a while, next thing you know everybody is playing Ascension, war disappears, hunger goes away, poverty & homelessness & unemployment fade into the distant past... you know what i'm talkin' about... SolForge has gotten an huge amount of mileage out of Twitch, and Ascension is just flat out a better game [and infinitely better with regard to the quality of the game client, too, by the way], but it's all about active community, so... keep up the good work, OmenRaven... peace -- -- khs
  6. hey -- i've been working at this for quite some time, it's not as easy as it's supposed to be... Mint 17 MATE Edition on a 2009 MacBook Pro [4 GB RAM]... Windows 7 Ultimate running via virtualbox [2 cores, 2 GB RAM -- virtual memory manually set to a fixed 4096 MB]... Playdek's Android implementation of Ascension, running via BlueStacks... it crashes the virtual machine [twice during that game, and again immediately after finishing it], and it pushes my system load pretty hard, but i can get a game in... inelegant to the extreme, nesting virtual machines like that, but since /begin-rant NOBODY WANTS TO DEVELOP GAMES FOR THE LINUX COMMUNITY /end-rant this is how i've been spending my spare time lately... yeah, i lost the game [and it crashed 3 times during], but progress is progress... i have no idea why getting this far has been as hard as it has, but it was worth it... just wanted to crow, sorry... <sheepish grin> peace -- -- khs

Bug/Glitch Reporting Thread for PC Beta

heya -- i know it's none of my business while it's still behind the curtain, but please, oh, please tell me they released this one for Linux...?! peace -- -- khs
  8. hey, again -- okay, so i'm slowly but surely getting infinitesimally better at Ascension... mostly, this manifests itself as losing with more style & pizazz, but, hey, it's something, right...? so, i think i may have identified one of my [potentially many] problems... i forget where i read it, it was before these forums sprang into existence, but one of the tips i read somewhere, for good or for ill, stuck in my head... the general gist of it was that you pretty much wanted to have somewhere in the order of 10-12 Mystics & Heavy Infantry [combined, total] in your deck, the ratio of which you'd determine in response to the vagaries of the Center Row... after about 250 games online & maybe another 200 or so against the AI, something about this suggestion seems not to ring true... i was recently reading something else that said a pair or three of each is the sweet spot... this, also, doesn't seem to jibe with my experiences... how am i supposed to be in position for Master Dhartha or Kythis, following this method...?! i'm having a hard time pinning this issue down, because there are games where i just haven't got enough of either, i find myself with 9 Mystics & 11 Heavy Infantry, and i try to buy my way to a sweeter ratio -- this is obviously not the correct approach, as it almost never works out for me... so, keeping it as general as possible, how many Mystics & how many Heavy Infantry do you more experienced & better players tend to go for...? as always, thanks in advance for your inputs... they're appreciated... peace -- -- khs

    Suggestion: Log Enhancements

hi -- i don't know if you're familiar with SolForge, DC, but the game log in that game [also a SBE product, but not a Playdek product {hopefully i'm not touching an open nerve by making this mention}, though, i'd think there should exist the potential for cooperation] is very well executed, and i concur with your opinion of the state of Ascension's game log... being able to look back and get definitive information about the last few turns, if not the whole game, would often be extremely helpful, and i wouldn't think it would be too terribly difficult to program, although the cross-platform issues might complicate things significantly... +1 peace -- -- khs

    iOS vs Android

hey there -- good eye, DeepCerulean... i'd really like to see that "energized" indicator migrate over to the Android platform... i'm so bad at this game, every bit of additional information i get to take in, i'm on it... the double-tap to see the card text, i don't mind -- i actually rather like that, to be honest: it helps force me to maintain a stronger in-head card database... peace -- -- khs
  12. hey -- i just wanted to post a quick "thank you" to everyone who has offered up their experience an insights on Ascension strategy & tactics in the forums here... as a result, my game has come quite a ways toward being better, although i'm still just not really very good at Ascension, despite putting a lot of work into it... the fault there lies with me, given the treasure trove of information you have all been so forthcoming with... just because i stink at it doesn't mean i don't enjoy it, though... really, thanks, all... peace -- -- khs
