  1. In game #556321, I, as USSR, played Shuttle Diplomacy on the last action round of turn 10. No scoring cards were played after. On final scoring, the game reduced my battleground count for both Asia and Middle East by one, and I lost the game at score zero instead of winning at score -1. The text of the Shuttle Diplomacy card explicitly says that the event Does not count for Final Scoring at the end of Turn 10.

    Bug with bids

This is something that I noticed several times: Me and my adversary bid exactly the same thing, e.g., +1 for USSR. The program tells me that my adversary won the bid, and that I will play US with +1 extra unit. But when the game begins, it's the converse: I get to play the USSR and my adversary has the US with +1 unit.
  3. Never mind, i saw an earlier post saying there was no place to coup. How do you delete a post on here?
  4. Here's my attempt at listing all bugs in one place. I'll try and keep this updated - please let me know if I've missed any. Bugs: Iron Lady allows USSR to avoid the normal influence adjacency rules (meaning USSR can use it to get into Argentina then add a further 3 influence in/around Argentina, even if USSR started the AR without any influence in the area). Vietnam Revolts + Red Purge with a 1 OP card in Southeast Asia gives 2 OPs instead of 1. Interface forces you to use all realignment rolls, even if you don't want to. SALT forces card draw, even if you don't want it (e.g. after a reshuffle play of Missile Envy). UN Intervention for OPs is possible on a Grain Sales headline. Cuban Missile Crisis influence removal is not possible in all the situations when it should be (specifically, the USSR cannot add 2 or more influence to Cuba and then remove 2 to cancel CMC in the same AR). Scoring Card play during Quagmire/Bear Trap is possible, but not clearly flagged as such. Discard pile disappears under some circumstances (exiting and re-entering game is a workaround). The VP tie rule changes are not taught by the documentation or indicated anywhere in the game until the point at which you win/lose, by which time it's too late. Aldrich Ames Remix doesn't expose the US hand during the whole remainder of the turn (significant when "Ask Not..." gets played). Latin America Debt Crisis for the event gets removed instead of going to the discard. Apparently it's impossible to remove a user from your friend list if they have never played TS online. Grain sales event > Missile envy event > US card play >> USSR unable to play Missile envy for OPs, impossible to advance game state. UN Intervention after U2 awards 1 VP prior to choosing a card to play with UN Intervention. If your VPs are at 19, and you have no card in hand to use with UN Intervention, you should not be able to play UN Intervention for an automatic victory, but currently you can. Turn zero effects aren't working. Reports seem to indicate that a large amount of Turn Zero content is borked. "One Small Step..." event appears to (incorrectly) grant the VP of a space you skip, but this is not reflected in the actual VP track. Rule changes: VP tie is a win for US (with an exception for Wargames, below). A Wargames VP tie is a loss for the player who played the event. Problem with asynchronous play: There's no easy in-game way to figure out what cards your opponent might be holding, and no way to make notes. I run a separate program for card-tracking. Problem with realtime play: Apparently it occasionally looks to both players as if it is still the opponents turn (and timer) ticking down. I haven't experienced this. Other interface issues: Part of the chat window is obscured by the camera buttons.
  5. When will draws/ties be correctly recorded as such? In my game tonight I had an irreparable position vs USA (turn 9, could end the turn by either giving him 11VP through a Scoring card and losing in end-of-turn-10 scoring, or playing Wargames for the event to end the game at 0 - I waited a long time to try and get to 7VP up to win, but it got to my last AR and I had to make a decision), and had to give up ranking points for no reason.
  6. I have been enjoying TS on the iPad for a while now, thanks for all your hard work in bringing one of my favourite games to my tablet! Having played plenty of games now, one of my feelings is that the probability distribution of the dice rolls is off. While I don't have concrete numbers, I feel there is an over indexing of 1s, especially when playing 4 ops cards for coups. Further to this, I also feel there is an improbably high number of same roll runs, especially on coups. Having played 100 plus games, I have experienced at least 3 or 4 runs of 1 rolls up to 4 times in a row. Based on my simple maths, this should only occur with a probability of 1/1296. Assuming 20 coups per game (a high estimate) this translates to 2000 rolls based on 100 games. So having at least 3 or 4 same roll runs feels too much for my taste. Clearly this is a possibility, but the four 1s in a row feel much more prevalent that 4 roll runs of other numbers. There may well be some bias based on 1 rolls being more painful and therefore more memorable, but I'm pretty sure something is off... Have you run any logging on the dice rolls? If so, can you please do some distribution analysis to verify that your random number generator is not biased? I know they are not perfect but having played a lot of the actual board game as well, the rolls in the iOS version do not match the feel of the tabletop version. Has anyone else noticed this? Forgive me if my maths is off... Many thanks.
  7. So I usually launch a new Late War scenario to show off the game on iPad to friends who like Twilight Struggle but don't know the iPad version. It's usually gets them very excited. It's the pause and then immediate transition into the Jimmy Carter voiceover which is the initial dazzle. But I noticed that with the Turn Zero app update and the new synth snare drum music, when I launch the Late War scenario, the snare drum music starts a few seconds, and then abruptly and incongruently, the Carter voice comes on... the effect is jarring , not pleasing to the ear, and distracting rather than dazzling. Can the snare drum music be switched off here... thanks!!
  8. Steps to reproduce: Create Offline Game and play as USSR Be lucky and have De-Stalinization in your hand Play De-Stalinization as Headline You hit bug here, De-Stalinization will be ignored and you will play AR1 without benefiting from De-Stalinization. Cheers.
  9. I would like to report a BUG. Please check game #174047. I had a scoring card in hand and North Sea Oil was in effect so I could play an 8th action round. It was my intention to play the scoring card in the 8th action round, but the app decided to already end my turn after the 7th action round and then the app said I lost the game because I was still holding a scoring card!! That is why I now rate the app 1 star in Google Play. I will give 5 stars again after the bug is fixed. Thank you in advance. EDIT: My bad, apparently North Sea Oil was played in the previous turn. Still it could be made clearer, as gweis also writes (see below). Compliments for the speedy reply!

    SALT Negotiations

There's a thread on BGG here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1687161/salt-event-mandatory Playdek forces you to take a card with SALT Negotiations which, in the case described in the link, ends up being very bad for the USSR player. SALT Negotiations should not force you to draw a card from the discard.
  11. I'm receiving notifications on my iPad that it's my turn, in games that I am not involved in. -I own Twilight Struggle for the iPad. -My girlfriend owns Twilight Struggle for the PC (Steam). My girlfriend used my iPad to log in to her Playdek TS account and play a few games. Ever since then, I receive a notification on my iPad whenever it's her turn in a game she's playing. Note that I have since logged in to my account from my iPad many times (and she has not re-logged in from my iPad), but I am still receiving her notifications. There does not seem to be a "Logout" function (but again, I've already logged in on top of her). I've also closed and rebooted the app, and rebooted the iPad itself. I am still receiving notifications for any game she is in, when it's her turn and she's not actively in the game on her PC. This seems like a major bug. I shouldn't receive notifications for an account just because that account, at one point in the past, logged in using my iPad. I should only receive notifications for games involving the player who has most recently logged in (i.e., me).
  12. As the US player, I headlined containment in early war. In final round of the turn, defcon was 2, USSR (AI) had only a CIA created card and played that. I wanted to coup on battleground but I couldn't that. There was only place influence button. There was no effect preventing a coup.
  13. LoneStar

    NORAD bug

As the US player, I headlined Junta with NORAD already in effect (and Canada controlled). I couped a battleground country which dropped the defcon to 2 but i wasn't allowed to place an influence from NORAD. Norad worked properly all of the other times so maybe it's an issue with couping during the headline phase.
  14. Not sure exactly what factors contributed to the bug, so I'll just describe what happened in full. Turn 6 US AR4: Bear Trap for event USSR AR5: Africa Scoring US AR5/6/7: Cards for OPs and ME scoring USSR AR6/7: Passing (holding only OAS) Turn 7 US Headline: Missile Envy - USSR hands over Muslim Revolution, used for realigns USSR Headline: HILTSW Bug: USSR was presented with the Bear Trap interface to drag and drop a card, but had not yet been given a chance to set DEFCON by using HILTSW. ad hoc solution: USSR player left the game, and upon rejoining was apparently able to correctly set DEFCON then discard Missile Envy. I should note that I cannot verify this bug, and I'm only able to report what the USSR player claimed was happening. The game is currently ongoing.

    Possible bug? NATO card

I haven't played the physical card game so maybe this is not a bug (sorry if it is not) but in the iPad game, NATO is playable as a headline event card when the prerequisites for its event have not been fulfilled. When played like this, the card has no effect but is just discarded

    Bug: Incorrect Defcon warning

On playing the card 5 Year Plan as Soviet player, my remaining 2 cards in hard are Defections and Olympic Games. Defcon Level is 2. The commit button is highlighted with a Defcon warning - presumably for Olympic Games, but that would be incorrect as Olympic Games as an either player event cannot be triggered by 5 Year Plan
  17. Playing on the latest iPad version as the Soviet player against AI (game version has CCW and Optional cards), I played Red Scare/Purge for 4 influence points. I spend 3 points on the Chinese Civil War. With 1 point left, the game board flashes US-controlled countries as suggestions, where it should cost 2 points for the first influence level. But it only costs me 1 point. If I don't put 3 points into CCW ( I forgot to check with 1 and 2 points, I dunno if that's affected), the first influence level in US controlled countries costs me the regular 2 influence points.
  18. This is a severe game-breaking bug. My client believed it was my opponent's turn, while my opponent's client believed it was my turn. Nevertheless, both clients had my clock ticking down. Unable to do anything, I ended up losing on time after having to sit there and watch helplessly for 15 minutes. Game: 56396 My client: Ipad Build 1.0.4(60) Situation: I was in the Quagmire, my opponent was suffering from Cuban Missile Crisis. I put a card into the Quagmire and was still stuck. Based on text-chat, I believe my opponent removed influence from Cuba to relieve Cuban Missile Crisis and then played a card to place influence in Cuba and Venezuela. He then believed it was my turn, to put another card into Quagmire. However, I received no indication that my opponent had done anything. The game log panel at the bottom showed an empty slot for USSR Turn7 AR2, indicating that my client was waiting for him to make a move. Also, the text at the top of the screen said "Waiting for opponent to decide..." However, my clock was still ticking down. (It was initially ticking down on his side, after my Quagmire discard - I presume that at some point, the clock switched to my side, after he made his move on his side). I don't understand how my clock can be ticking down while at the same time the text says "Waiting for opponent to decide..." - this should never be allowed to happen. Throughout the game, I lost connections to the server multiple times. I believe Playdek was having some server issues (my internet connectivity at home was fine, and my girlfriend was unable to log in to the TS server at all from her computer in the meantime, indicating the problem was on Playdek's end). Perhaps the IPad client received the message that my opponent's turn was over - without receiving the content of what he did in the turn? The clock ticked down, with my being unable to do anything. I rebooted the app twice in the meantime, to no effect. Eventually I lost. You can imagine my frustration at losing the game and an hour of my time for nothing. There should never be a situation where my client thinks it's both my opponent's turn ("Waiting for opponent to decide...") and also my turn (my own clock ticking down). The game should periodically check to see if both clients are synchronized, and this check should also be done every time the game is reloaded (due to a reboot or loss in connectivity).
  19. The online in-game text chat on the Ipad is nearly unuseable. More than 95% of the time, typing on the Ipad in-game keyboard results in severe lag - something like 2-6 seconds per keystroke. That is, I can type a bunch of characters - but it will go through slowly, responding one character at a time, at a rate of 2-6 seconds per character. (A solid minute to write a simple one-liner). The UI noticeably lags during this as well - for instance, the timer in the upper left is no longer smooth (jumping 2-6 seconds at a time). Finally, the IPad app often crashes during typing, so I have to reload the program. This doesn't seem to fix the behavior - typing in the game once again results in lag and often crashes yet again. This behavior is pretty consistent and constant. Rebooting the program doesn't help. Closing any other open Apps at the time also does not help. This bug is present in the latest build, 1.0.4(60).
  20. It happened in a recent online game. I was playing USSR, and in headline I gave up Cuban Missile Crisis due to Missile Envy. At the moment I had no inf on Cuba. Later during the turn my opponent played Fidel, so I did get enough inf on Cuba to cancel CMC. When I tried to do that, the entire application (PC version) slowed down considerably, and started beeping repeatedly - beeps like when removing influence, but much more than 2 of them. Waiting didn't help. Only when I exited the game and came back, things went back to normal.

    iOS Crash

Couldn't find this elsewhere on the forum, I apologize if this has already been discussed. I tapped "exit game" during a game against the AI, and the app crashed and returned me to my home screen. Now, when I boot up the app, if I tap "play offline", the game will immediately crash. I can still tap "play online" or "settings" just fine. Have closed app completely, restarted iPad, etc. is there a fix for this? I'm on iPad Air 2. Thanks
  22. As per the title, playing Nasser as the US gave the USSR +4 influence in Egypt, with the animation showing +2, then switching to a 4. Needs fixing ASAP.
  23. In the late war scenario, the USSR should win if the US fails to score +20 VP, but I just finished a game in which, after final scoring, the US was only at +17 VP, and the US was awarded the win. Likewise, the US should not win if they play Wargames for the event, but currently they do.

    Bug with Star War

Found a bug related to the Star War card. Offline game played on Widows 7 Twilight Struggle v1.0.3.3 US player against AI Turn 9. There was a resuffle at the beginning of the turn. USSR played Star War at AR 7. I, as the US player, was offerd to recover a card from the discard pile, but it appeared empty, despite that we had both played several non-opponent cards for ops. No way to continue the game; no way to scoll left or right in the discard; no possibility to select a "Done" or "Pass"option. Clicking on the turn counter, I had a pop-up saying that 59 cards were on the deck, 8 cards were in the discard, 37 cards were removed. We had both 2 cards left in hand, and one card, Star War, was still in play, so correct total of 109. I had to kill the game with task manager. I zipped a copy of the save files and attached them to bug report sent to support@playdeckgames.com.
  25. Writing text with special characters like å ä ö in the chat will strip characters of the end of the string when sent. Actually each special char seem to remove one char from the end. Example: This is a sträng will appear as This is a strän and See whät I cän do will appear as See whät I cän This might seem silly in the US or UK but here in Sweden we like our special chars, they are cool. Warning: dots does not necessarily make everything cooler, like when Troja wanted to be as cool as Mötley crüe. (A tröja is not really considered hard rock)
